Ford Consul/Zephyr/Zodiac Mk1 - IV The 1951 Consul was the first of the "modern" post-war cars from Dagenham., it offered unitary construction and a whole raft of new technology. Despite strong sales, Ford didn't rest on their laurels and launched the elegant Mk11 Consul, Zephyr and Zodiacrange in 1956, under the guise of the "Three Graces". Introduction of the MkIII in 1962 saw fins and even more chrome, with the Zodiac representing Dagenham's first genuine 100mph car. MkIV models arrived in 1966, these gargantuan Zephyrs and Zodiacs were amongst the biggest saloons ever offered by the company in Britain.
